Developing positive and professional relationships with parents, students, and fellow teachers is important to me. I love to share with parents what we are doing in the classroom in encouraging ways! I send home personal notes to parents when I witness an accomplishment, effort or good deed the student has done. I am active on my Twitter page and share the activities that we do in the classroom.
A way students can feel comfortable in their learning environment is seeing themselves represented in the classroom. I created a "The Best Part of Me" bulletin board that included all of my students. This allowed the students to feel welcome and a part of the class.
In order to encourage family engagement and to incorporate technology, I use Seesaw to share with parents. I will share activities the class is doing as well as personal notes, pictures, and videos of their child's progress. The students love sharing what they do with their parents on Seesaw as well. They will videotape themselves explaining a project or send a picture of work they are proud of.
